The Sky-Way opened with the park in 1971. It was a Vonroll 101 detachable chairlift ride meant for innerpark transportation from the USA section of the park to the Illinois section. It originally had 28 CWA built gondolas until 1978. After 1978 there were 27 CWA gondolas used. At the center tower the ride reached a height of 100 feet. We first rode it in 1978 and rode several times that day mostly going from USA to Illinois I don't remember traveling from Illinois to USA but maybe we did..
